Murder Mystery Evening
Over 90 people had a great evening at the Moa Kids Community Preschool Murder Mystery Evening. The evening, organised by Jude Coombs, opened with Miss Marble, played by Sally Willcox, introducing the six suspects, played by Rachael and Steve Morris, Shay Jenkinson, Matt Crowder and Marc and Fee Boodee. Throughout the evening they acted out a series of scenes, which provided a range of clues for the amateur sleuths to solve. In order to feed their little grey cells, the detectives, split into 12 tables, were helped by the provision of a 2 course meal with coffee or tea to follow. The suspects wandered round the tables answering any questions that people had. They all had to tell the truth apart from the murderer.
At the end of the evening the raffle was drawn and the murderer was revealed! Several tables got the correct suspect, but only 3 were able to say what the motive was. These received prizes of wine and chocolates.
The most pleasing aspect of the evening was that the event raised over $3,000 dollars towards providing our children with help towards their ongoing education.
Special thanks must go to all those who helped before and during the evening: also to the most generous sponsors who provided prizes and food. Particular mention should go to Merivale Fresh Choice, who donated most of the ingredients (skilfully combined into lasagnes, salads and desserts by parents and teachers) and raffle prizes were generously provided by:
